This is an interactive post that includes us all posting something...
Who has been the most influential person in your life to date?
How has this person contributed to who you are today?
Being in leadership and the positions that we will be in this next year we will naturally influence those that we are around. Lets take some time, post and share about a person in your life who has been a huge part of who you are, and how they have affected your life.
Be creative with this! :)
Mine would be two part. Obviously Jesus trups all, but I know he works through people to influence my life. I would have to agree with Gwen that my Mom has been been an "under-cover-influencer" from before I was born. Looking at my mom's life, she didn't have much going for her, except for the fact that she stayed completely devoted to God in trust. And I know others didn't view her in the highest regards... mostly because she A. Wasn't married until she was 34, and B. She didn't make alot of money... and my family is slightly shallow. However, when I look at my life, sometimes I think, "How did I get spared from this situation? How did I turn out the way i did? I don't feel like i ever worked on anything yet somehow I feel like I'm in God's favor!" Alot of that though I feel like is because I'm coasting on the prayers and devotion of my mom.
ReplyDeleteSecondly, as much as I dislike talking about this, I would have to say Brendan has been a big influencer. The reason I don't like talking about it, is because I always hated it when other girls flaunted their "lovers" and I never wanted to be that. Also because of the state we are in right now as a pair, its hard for me to have to admit. BUT I have to give him credit for pushing me to be more open with my feelings, helping me articulate what I'm actually feeling or thinking, and through our relationship, making me a stronger individual... for better and for worse! :)
OKay..so OCD me had to answer the questions by copy & pasting them.. so..

Well, obviously Jesus and all that He endured and yet still loved so His example has influenced me to live my life with more love. I don't always admit this but my mom has had a huge impact on me. She raised me as a single parent and provided for not only every single one of my needs but she also provided some of the extra "wants" in my life. Life has been kind of tough on her, I mean, she's been through 2 divorces; both being very abusive. She could have climbed into a hole for the way she was treated many of times but she didn't and she was still there for me, providing for me. I think coming home for summer, despite it being short, really helped me to appreciate her even more than I did before. Her faith in God has impacted my life tremendously. I don't think I would have clung to God as much as I have if it wasn't for her continually praying for me and over me.
